Radisson Blu Mall of America

Minneapolis, Minnesota - September 23-26, 2021

Honestly? We don't know what to expect for 2021. Are you all ready to attend film festivals again?

If you are, we'll be there for you this year. If you aren't, we'll have selected components of the festival accessible online. We strongly suggest making a week of it by attending Minnesota WebFest in the Twin Cities on the weekend and then Catalyst in Duluth during the week. In fact, Catalyst and Minnesota WebFest have some exciting join opportunities to announce in the near future!

What you should expect are some great panels and talks from TV and web series leaders and great networking events. Of course, the weekend will end with our famous Lake Minnetonka cruise. Yes, you can actually purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Submissions are closed for Minnesota WebFest 2021.

We look forward to seeing your work for 2022!

ALL IN-PERSON EVENTS ARE FREE-OF-CHARGE!!!!

Free tickets for all in-person events (except the lake cruise) are available at the event web site. Even though the tickets are free, we still require you to get a ticket so we can manage capacity. Friday night's kick-off is at Crave in the Mall of America. Saturday's events are in the Minnetonka Room and the Radisson Blu Mall of America.

COVID-19 Information
Minnesota is doing better than most areas in terms of spread of COVID-19. We have a highly vaccinated population and have largely behaved properly throughout the pandemic. ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE VACCINATED. Please be ready to show proof-of-vaccination at registration. A digital photo on your phone is acceptable. We don't want you to risk losing your original cards. The likelihood that we will require masks as well at some times is high, especially in indoor situations where we cannot control spacing. Please bring masks with you at all times.

In any situation in which we do not require masks, we expect all attendees to respect the wishes of those attendees who prefer to wear masks. A failure to respect that choice or to adhere to any requirement for masks will result in expulsion from the event.

Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport provides free vaccines to visitors, including the one-shot J&J vaccine. If you come from a nation that is behind on vaccination, this festival may be an opportunity to get vaccinated when you land (you will still be required to wear a mask since you will not be fully vaccinated).

Normally, the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is a direct flight from almost anywhere in the United States and Canada as well as Amsterdam, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Reykjavik, Seoul, Tokyo, and a handful of other air travel hubs. With the COVID flight schedules in place, it's hard to say what will be available when

Getting Around

All events except the lake cruise are in Bloomington at the Mall of America. The Mall of America sits at the foot of the airport's main north/south runway. The easiest way to get to the mall as well as the hotels in and adjacent to the mall is via light rail.

Downtown Minneapolis is a 30-minute ride on light-rail from the MSP airport or a 15 minute car/Lyft/Uber/taxi ride. Both Lyft and Uber operate in the Twin Cities.

The light rail line will take you from the Mall of America to downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. That means the University of Minnesota, Twins games, Vikings games, and both downtowns are rail-accessible. Renting a car is probably a waste of money.

You will need to Uber/Lyft to get to the lake cruise event on Sunday. The dock is in the city of Wayzata, about 20 minutes from the Mall of America.

What to See and Do

Of course, you're here to watch web series!

But if you'd like to get out and about in the Twin Cities, here are some things to do:

  • A ton of riding and running trails. You can get anywhere in the Twin Cities on bike trails alone without having to fight cars.
  • Paisley Park (the former home and workplace of Prince, now a museum)
  • Theater (Minneapolis is one of the largest theater scenes in the country with the second-most capacity per capita)
  • The Mall of America, the largest mall in the United States
  • Nickelodeon Universe, an amusement park inside the Mall of America
  • The Walker Art Center
  • Minneapolis Sculpture Garden with the big ass spoon (next to Walker Art Center)
  • Strolling the Lakes (Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet)
  • Minnehaha Park
  • And the legendary First Avenue
  • Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field
  • The Minnesota Twins at Target Field
  • The Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium
  • If you are willing to make a drive of it, the city of Duluth and Lake Superior are 2 1/2 hours north of the Twin Cities.
